I had a band concert tonight, forgot to write about that, I think... just so tired, just getting over being really, really sick... uh, well, it was my first performance with the ever famous JABHS Concert band... and keep in mind, I'm the only freshman in my flute division... I'm in between the sophomores and the juniors in Second flute, everyone else is playing third and they're all aloooone in the third flute row. Yeah. Well, I'm the only freshman who is musically, um, exceptional, I suppose. This Saturday, I'm performing as part of the NYSSMA Z2 Area All State Band for junior high, I didn't make the high school band again because I'm still not old enough to get in. I'm actually beginning to LOOK FORWARD to it again because I learned my solo. It's actually a variation of Stars & Stripes Forever once learned (AND I CAN PLAY THE GNOMES!!) "Gnome" is a technical term in flute-dom which means a variety of notes that are high on the flute that typically don't sound, don't sound in tune, or screech easily. Heh. I'm such a band geek. *g*
ALL YOU BASE ARE BELONG TO US!!! I love my whiteboard..

I...got back in contact with someone after school today I hadn't talked to since seventh grade, our groups of friends more or less split. Well, I basically became what I am now. Anti-cliqueish. Basically, if you had to define me, I'm a geek. Well, we talked and then Mrs. L picked up her kids, so I got a ride with her (they go to a private christian school that kids transfer at from my school). I avoided an extra hours' worth of bus riding by doing that. Anyway, it was kind of interesting talking to him, just catching up. He said I looked good with my braces off, and I don't really know how to take this.

I was okay until I listened to this:

I ended up sequencing a MIDI file to my piccolo solo and it's now bothering me. The last third of the song (it starts with a trumpet-like call on a very high note, similiar to the one repeated earlier in the song but higher) is my solo, and the first part of the song, the only melodic part, is another solo, but it's low and easy to play. I've almost got the more difficult solo down, it's going pretty well. Piccolo actually sounds better when you're sick but makes you want to take more tylenol.
Ah, the things I do. :-P
Getting my homework from Blair tonight so I can keep caught up while I'm out sick.. hoping to go back monday, next week is a very busy week for me.
Monday: Jazz band/band concert - time for me to kick butt for the first time in public with the jazz band, I'm solo chair flute, booya! lol
Tuesday: Jazz band rehearsal, watch concert and laugh at ourselves, Doctor appointment
Wednesday: Flute lesson, orthopedist (sp?) appointment
Thursday: Jazz band, do/get homework for Friday and the weekend
Friday: Area all state, 12:30 (missing class) to 6pm in MY SCHOOL nonetheless, wooo! hehehehe. IwillnotkillguestfluteplayersIwillnotkillguestfluteplayersIwillnotkillguestfluteplayers... :-P (and I have CB from 7-8:30 or I might go to Teen Thing at Joel's church and hang from 7-10:30, don't know yet, or I might stay home and sleep.)
Saturday: Area all state, 8:30am-2:00pm, one hour preparation/free time before concert, concert at 3pm-4:30pm, meet nick afterwards and go have dinner somewhere
Sunday: sleep. do whatever homework I didn't do thursday, and hope by then I am still alive.

I decided to start my livejournal over again, my last one died. Well, that's not completely literal, but you know what I mean. I wasted it. And I'm not ryoko so much anymore, I'm r0se now. I really do feel like a r0se, too, and hope to stay this way soon.
